The Verona High School Student Council kicks off its annual toy drive for Newark’s Hawkins Street School on Monday, November 27.

The Student Council is looking for toys appropriate for students in kindergarten through fourth grade. All gifts, which can be dropped off in the main hallway at VHS, should be wrapped and labeled with the following information:

  • Gender (boy, girl, unisex)
  • Age (5-10)
  • What the toy is

The suggested gift price is $10 to $15, and some good ideas are dolls, cars and trucks, art kits, building kits or action figures.

The Student Council says no used toys, no toy weapons, clothing or video games. If you donate a battery-operated toy, please put the batteries in before you wrap it.

The toy drive runs through Monday, December 18.
