Jason C. Buoye passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on September 1, 2023 at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge. He was 44 years old.

A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 28 Lakeside Avenue, Verona, on Friday, September 8 at 10 a.m.

Jason was born in Livingston and resided in Verona all of his life. He was a graduate of the Lakeview School for children with multiple disabilities in Edison, and previously attended the Norman A. Bleshman Regional Day School in Paramus.

Jason greatly enjoyed simple pleasures in life including long car rides with his parents, spending long days floating in a pool, dining out with family, and listening to Broadway musical soundtracks. Perhaps his greatest joy, particularly in his later years, was watching the New York Yankees. His extensive collection of recorded “Yankee Classics” is a testament to his passion for the late 90s Yankees Dynasty.

He was predeceased by his loving mother, Lucila V. Buoye.

Jason is survived by his father, John J. Buoye, Jr.; brothers, Alexander (Arleen) and Brian (Yvonne); cherished nephews, Xavier and Brandon; many loving aunts and uncles; and his beloved caregiver Marisol Relano.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Verona Rescue Squad, 12 Church Street, Verona, NJ 07044 or to Special Olympics New Jersey, ATTN: Web Gifts, 1 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 would be appreciated.

Condolences may be left on the Remember Page for Jason at www.proutfuneralhome.com.
