Patricia Lee Smith, a lifelong resident of Verona, passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 77. Born on March 17, 1946, Patricia was a kind and loving person who dedicated her life to helping others.

Patricia graduated from Jersey City State College in 1977 and worked as a secretary at Essex County Hospital (Overbrook) in Cedar Grove for many years until her retirement in 2011. She was a dedicated employee, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the well-being of her colleagues and patients. In her personal life, Patricia was a devoted daughter, sister, and aunt.

Patricia is survived by her siblings, Arthur Smith and Anna Costello. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Smith; and siblings, Robert Smith, Mary Ward, and John Smith.

Visiting will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona and on Friday at 9:30 a.m., with the procession leaving at 10 a.m. to the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, where graveside prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m.
