Mr. Matthew S. Ciccolini, a loving husband, father, brother and son, died peacefully on May 5, 2023 at the Holy Name Hospice in Teaneck. He was 56 years old and deeply loved by all his family, friends and the Verona community.

Visiting will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Monday, May 8 from 4 to 7 p.m., with a service to follow at 7 p.m.

Born in Newark, he was raised in Glen Ridge and moved to Verona 25 years ago. He graduated from Glen Ridge High School in 1984 and has a Bachelors degree in Recreation from Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida.

He had a career in logistical sales, primarily for Ciccolini Brothers in Nutley. He also held positions at the Verona Recreation Department and at Lakeside Deli, Verona.

He served as a coach for the Verona Baseball League and the Verona Barnstormers. As an avid sports fan, his love for the NY Giants, the NY Mets and the NY Rangers was beyond compare. Matthew was always ready with a quick sports stat or a piece of baseball memorabilia.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Ambrose) Ciccolini; his sons, Joseph Peter Ciccolini and Nicholas Matthew Ciccolini and his brothers, Joseph Ciccolini and Bart Ciccolini (Michelle McCarthy); his sister-in-law, Diana Ambrose; his nephew, Thomas and niece, Mary.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Janet Ciccolini and his nephew, William Kevin Ciccolini.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Go Fund Me page that was established for the family would be greatly appreciated.
