March Music Madness

The Verona High School Music Department is kicking off its own version of March Madness on Thursday, March 2: A full slate of musical events leading up to the trip by the marching band, color guard and choir at Disney World at the end of the month.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • “Hello Dolly!”: The classic Broadway musical will be performed in the VHS auditorium Thursday to Saturday, March 2 to 4, at 7 p.m., plus a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students and seniors, and $12 for adults. Take a sneak peek at the show and buy your tickets here.
  • Winter Guard: Competition on Saturday, March 11, at Bridgewater Raritan High School, 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, and free for 65+ seniors and children under 5.
  • Music in Our Schools and Disney Preview Concert: Thursday, March 16, at VHS, 7:30 p.m. Featuring Verona Jazz & Beyond, Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and Concert Band. Free.
  • Verona Day of Percussion: Saturday, March 18, noon to 4 p.m., and Verona Percussion and Friends Fundraiser Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the daytime event and $10 for the evening event, or you can get a ticket to both for $15.
  • Winter Guard: Competition on Saturday, March 18, at Matawan High School.
  • Disney World: Verona music will be at Disney from Wednesday, March 22, through Sunday, March 26. The choir will sing at Disney Springs, and the Marching Maroon and White will march down Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom.
