The Verona Conference of SCAs, which comprises the individual SCA parent groups at all six Verona schools, is holding a forum for Board of Education candidates on Thursday, October 13, at 7:30 p.m., and the deadline for the community to submit questions for the event is Sunday, October 9, at midnight. To submit your question, please use this form.
The BOE candidates forum will be held in the Verona High School auditorium and moderated by the League of Women Voters of the Montclair Area.
The Verona Conference of SCAs says that a “committee of parents that are closely involved in the Verona Public School communities will be vetting the questions submitted, in conjunction with the assigned moderator from the LWVM,” but has not disclosed information on who exactly is serving on the review committee or whether they represent the full spectrum of community interest in the schools.
There are five candidates running for two open seats on the BOE this November:
Michael Boone, Sara Drappi, Diana Ferrera, Aaron Spiegeland, and Denise Verzella. MyVeronaNJ.com has interviewed all five and you can read their answers to our questions here.
The Conference of SCAs says its event will be livestreamed, but it has not yet released a link.
