Field Hockey Gets 4-1 Win

Sarah Knoetig scored twice as the Verona High School field hockey team got its second win, defeating Plainfield’s Koinonia Academy 4-1 at home.

Knoetig, a junior, got the first goal with an assist from Mary Kate Dougherty, and soon followed that with another on an assist from fellow junior Olivia Frank. Olivia Egan, still another junior, got the third goal with help from freshman Lucia Grant. Josie Shust completed the scoring for Verona in the fourth quarter, with another assist from Frank.

Field hockey, which uses Centennial as its home field, will host Columbia High School on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
