On Sunday, July 18, Verona Pack 32 took their Cubmobiles to the sledding hill at Verona Park for some old-fashioned summer fun.
A Cubmobile is gravity powered, steered by a rope, and is comprised of little more than a wooden seat, four wheels and two axles. Pack 32’s fleet of three Cubmobiles was built in 2015 by the previous generation of Cub Scouts, and have since provided countless hours of fun for new Scouts.
Sunday’s event was non-competitive, with individual scouts attempting to improve upon their own personal record as set by their previous longest run down the hill. The pack gives special thanks to Verona Troop 2 Boy Scout James Waugh for assisting at the event.
Following a year of modified programming due to the pandemic, Pack 32 is looking forward to an adventure packed fall 2021 to spring 2022 scouting season, with multiple camping trips and other events already planned. Pack 32 typically serves youth in the 1st to 4th grades from the Laning and Brookdale sections of Verona, but membership is open to any age eligible youth regardless of location.
