The Verona Democratic Commitee has awarded scholarships to two Verona High School Seniors. Verona Democrats’ Treasurer Lonna Murphy awarded Isabella Hussar and Nia Chesney $500 each based on their extensive essays highlighting both their service and leadership to the community. Additionally, the young women shared their experiences of how COVID-19 has impacted them and how they coped with these challenges.
This is the third year the Verona Dems have offered this scholarship. Criteria for submission is offered to any graduating senior attending an accredited degree-higher education program with plans to study political science, history, international relations, or any other discipline/major they intend to use for public service.
