Patricia “Patty” DeForest-DeSantis, 74, of Waretown, N.J. peacefully passed from this earth on December 11, 2020 at the Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin after a six-year battle with cancer.

Services were private.

Born in New York City, Patty grew up in Fairfield and was a 1965 graduate of West Essex High School. Throughout her career, she worked as a phlebotomist for over 45 years for South Ocean Medical Center, Quest and LabCorp.

She was a member of the Beach Haven Moose Lodge. A lifelong animal lover, Patty was very active with local animal rescues.

She is predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Marjorie (Laine) DeForest and stepson, Michael DeSantis.

Patty is survived by her loving husband, Robert DeSantis; brother, Lloyd DeForest and his wife, Beverly of San Bernardino, Calif.; sister-in-law, Judith “Judy” DeSantis of St. Augustine, Fla.; and stepchildren, Robert DeSantis, II and Stephanie DeSantis. She also leaves behind her beloved “BB”, a rescued and pampered dachshund.
