Charlotte Viola (Levis) Stravalle passed away on March 19, 2019 in Astoria, N.Y., a few weeks shy of her 97th birthday. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Friday, March 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
She was born April 3, 1922 in Springfield Gardens, Queens, N.Y. to Maud and George Levis. She was preceded in death by sisters Kathleen, Aileen, and Jacqueline, and brother George.
Charlotte married the love of her life Benjamin on June 11, 1939 and resided in Manhattan for many years until moving to Verona. Benjamin preceded her in death in 2005; in 2004 they were preceded in death by daughter Judith Ann Colombo (Lawrence) of Montclair.
For many years she was employed by New York Life in Manhattan, until she retired in 1985.
Charlotte is survived by daughter Margaret Christine Weber (Leonard) of Astoria.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lisa Colombo, Lawrence Jr. (Tara), and Christine Colombo, all of New Jersey, and Nicole Lysaght (James) of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Leonard Weber (Anna) of Merrick, N.Y., and eight great-grandchildren, Christina Margaret Weber, Leonard Michael Weber, Michael Benjamin Weber, Fiona May Lysaght, Sofia Violet Lysaght, Kara Grace Lysaght, Giovanna Monica Colombo and Francesca Judith Colombo.
In addition, Charlotte is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend.
