Verona Pool Bunnies Get Closer To New Home

Dutch is now available for adoption at the Wayne Animal Shelter.

Last week, we told you that Trish Moore’s son and his friends found two domestic bunnies running on the grass near the Verona Pool tennis courts. The boys wrapped the abandoned animals in towels and brought them home. Moore couldn’t keep them, but thanks to reader Nancy Gonzalez, the bunnies are closer to finding a forever home.

Gonzalez brought Dutch and Billy–yes, both are male rabbits–to the Wayne Animal Shelter where they are now available for adoption, preferably together. Gonzalez tells us that Dutch and Billy will need to be neutered before they can be adopted, but she’s not sure the shelter has funds to do that. If you can help in any way, the shelter is at 201 Pompton Plains Crossroads in Wayne, and the phone number is973-694-0767.

Billy, like Dutch, will need to be neutered before he can be adopted.
