In January, French students from all grades at H.B. Whitehorne Middle School and Verona High School had an opportunity to spend the day visiting the elementary schools they previously attended, bringing with them knowledge of all different aspects of French culture.

When the older students arrived at the elementary schools, the fourth grade students at each were split into groups and traveled to different “stations”, each headed by the VHS and HBW students. The fourth graders learned how to count and say introductory phrases in French, as well facts about French-speaking countries and the key monuments for which France is famous.

The elementary school students were very welcoming and accepting of the French language and culture and took to the language with great enthusiasm. A good time was had by all, and the high schoolers and middle schoolers were happy to have the opportunity to pass on the language and its culture to the future pupils of both HBW and Verona High School.
