Verona High School senior Amber Reed was honored for her athletic achievements on Sunday at a luncheon organized by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) for Women in Sports Day. Nearly 200 female athletes from around the state were recognized at the event. New Jersey’s new governor, Phil Murphy, also proclaimed it Girls in Sports Day for New Jersey.

Reed, who has played both softball and basketball for VHS, will be continuing her softball career at William Paterson University in the fall.
