It’s official: All Verona public schools will be closed on Thursday, February 9, because of the snow storm that is expected to start at midnight. The closing means that all athletics and school-sponsored activities that had been planned for Thursday are also nixed.
Here’s what else has been changed by the impending snow. If you put your recycling or garbage out, bring it back to the house; pickups have been cancelled. The Verona Police Department has cancelled overnight street parking and the Board of Adjustment meeting that was to have heard an application for a new bakery near Verona Park has been scrubbed, too, as has the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee (VMAC) meeting.
The Senior Bus will not run, nor will the medical transport service. All Recreation Department programs through 4 p.m. Thursday have been cancelled; no decision yet on the evening schedule.
