MemorialCandlesMr. Benjamin Fierro, Jr., 83, died on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Glen Ridge. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Wednesday, December 30 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Born and raised in Belleville, Mr. Fierro moved to Verona 56 years ago and also had a home in Pompano Beach, Fla. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and graduated from New York University in 1957 with a bachelor of science in the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance.

Mr. Fierro had a long career with the Colgate Palmolive Co. in New York City, retiring in 1994 as the National Account Sales Manager. He was a member of the Rock Spring Club and the Belleville Political and Social Club. He was also a long time NY Giants & Yankees fan and a lover of Frank Sinatra music, but most of all cherished his time with his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine (nee Rinaldi) Fierro, his parents, Beniamino and Olmitella, and his brother, Dominick Anthony. He was the loving father of Benjamin Fierro, DMD (and his wife, Annette) and Jacqueline Cocchiola (and her husband, Glenn). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph, Nicholas and Adrianna Fierro and Elizabeth, Julia and Gregory Cocchiola.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Verona Rescue Squad or St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
