Christmas Events At First Presbyterian

PresbyterianCreche2015During First Presbyterian‘s Christmas Workshop, held on December 12, the children prepared for the upcoming holiday by setting up the crèche on the front lawn on the church.

Upcoming services include:

Thursday, December 24: There will be two services. The 4 p.m. service is a family-friendly service. The church’s two youth choirs, Joyful Noise and Sacred Singers, will open the service with “Away in the Manager” and will also be performing “Hear the Angels Sing, Hear Them Sing!” and “A Peaceful Lullaby.” All children will be invited to participate in a recreation of the Christmas story. At 9 p.m. there will be a service of Lessons and Carols lead by Beth Shorten. his is a more reflective service and will feature soloist Peggy Whiting performing “Mary’s Boy Child” and a mother/daughter duet featuring Carolina Mescia and Jacqueline Mescia.

Friday, December 25: The Rev. Dr. Julia Dawson will lead a brief meditative communion service at 10 a.m.

Sunday, December 27: Rev. Deborah Oosterbaan will lead the service at 10:15 a.m. The Senior Choir will be singing “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly.” Coffee hour will follow the service in the church’s Chamberlain Hall.

Thursday, December 31: At 5:30 p.m. there will be a brief service followed by a New Year’s Eve Dinner/Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $14 per person. Reservations are requested by calling 973-239-3561

The church is located at 10 Fairview Avenue and there is parking in the lot behind the church.
