The Verona Sports Boosters would like to congratulate Jimmie Crawford as the Boys Senior Athlete of the Week.
The Verona High Football team improved to 7-0 this past weekend and a huge contributor was Crawford, who had eight tackles and a fumble recovery. A week earlier, on his 18th birthday, Jimmie scored two touchdowns in a win over Millburn. On the season, Crawford has rushed for over 200 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. He has also been a huge contributor from his inside linebacker position, with 30 tackles on the season.
Jimmie credits Coach Dan Corrado for helping him since he was a young player and developing him into the player he is today. He is a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL and The Clemson Tigers in college. If he could eat any one food it would be Buffalo wings. A fan of all kinds of music, Jimmie would love to play football in college somewhere next season. The Verona Sports Boosters wishes Jimmie luck in making that dream come true.
During the 2014-2015 school year, the Verona Sports Boosters will recognize a different male and female senior athlete at Verona High School every week. The Boosters support male and female athletes in all VHS sports through a variety of fundraisers and recognition events.
