U11 Girls Soccer Takes First Tune-Up Tournament

VU_U11Girls_ChampsOn Saturday, in extremely hot and humid conditions, The U11 Girls Verona Devils secured a 3-3 tie to Millburn and 6-2 win to Chatham in the first round of the 13th annual Essex Fall Tune-Up Tournament in Livingston.

On Sunday in more favorable weather conditions, the U11 team played with determination and poise. Their hard work led to a 6-0 victory against Montclair and yet another 6-0 win to Millburn in the championship match. The girls each received a medal and a team trophy for their winning efforts.

Coaches agreed the Verona Devils’ impressive teamwork and positive spirit at the tournament was a great way to kickoff the 2014 soccer season.
