Intern This Summer With Essex County Prosecutor

Gavel and Law BooksActing Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is looking for high school juniors to participate in our annual summer internship program. This exciting five-week program is designed to expose high school students to careers in law, law enforcement and local government.

The summer internship program will be held from July 7, 2014 through August 8, 2014 for students completing their junior year by June 2013. Interns must be Essex County residents. During this unique internship program, interns will be exposed to a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

  • Learning about the role and function of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office
  • Participating in New Jersey State Trooper Youth Weekend, a residential program
  • Observing a jury trial
  • Participating in a mock trial

Interns will learn about other governmental agencies and visit local colleges and universities. Workshops will be held for the interns on business etiquette and making positive choices.
