The Friends of the Verona Public Library and the staff of the Library invites Verona families to spend Family Night at the Verona Public Library on Thursday, October 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
This second Family Fun Night at the Verona Library is geared toward children in preschool through fourth grade and will feature several activities for the entire family. For the younger children, come in your pajamas for a fun dancing pajama party with Guitar Bob, the highly talented children’s entertainer. Older children will have a chance to make fall-themed Rainbow Loom bracelets and compete in a Rainbow Loom contest. We will supply the rubber bands but you must bring your own loom to have a chance to win! In the Children’s Room we will have several crafts for children of all ages to enjoy. Children’s librarian Ms. Cheryl Ashley will also read several fall-themed stories to the children, and a dessert will be served at the end of the evening.
Each academic year, the Verona School District identifies two “family nights.” On Family Night, no homework is given and sports and club activities are not held to encourage family bonding time.
“We had such a fantastic response to our first Family Fun Night in March,” said organizer and Friends member Jodi Cappello. “This is a great opportunity for families to spend Verona Family Night together having fun with others right here at our town library, which is a center of community and family activity in our town.”
Family Fun Night at the Library is free and registration is not required. For questions, feel free to email [email protected].
