The Verona Board of Education announced at Tuesday evening’s meeting that seven people have filed to fill the unexpired term of Dawn DuBois, who resigned from the BOE in September.

The eightseven candidates are Ellen Conover, Levine DeSantis , Sandra Farro, Dominic Ferry, Donald Flood, Anthony Gardner, George Sidrak and Steve Spardel. UPDATE: There were two errors in the names announced by the BOE: Sandra Farro is not a candidate and Anthony Gaeta, who works at Levine DeSantis, is a candidate.

The BOE said it will hold a special meeting–most probably next Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m.–so the candidates can present their qualifications and ideas for Verona’s public schools. Each candidate will be given about 15 minutes to speak and take questions from the Board. Under state law, the BOE can then choose the person to fill DuBois’ term, which expires in November 2014.
