Matt Tischio, a 2011 graduate of Verona high school who is currently a jazz major at William Paterson University, will perform with his quintet, Outplay.
The music starts at 6 p.m., and you should plan on bringing a chair or a blanket, just as you do for the summer concerts. And plan on staying in town for dinner after: Organizers will be handing out a flyer with the names of restaurants in town that have agreed to take 20% off dinner checks that evening for concert goers.
The concert is something of a departure for the Mayor’s Charity Fund. It has previously used the proceeds of its bi-annual fundraiser to support children’s charities and activities in Verona.
Any idea what the rain plan is? Would love to see Matt but forecast is calling for showers.
Don’t know. Will ask tomorrow.
Dear Carol,
Unfortunately, as we were unable to pin the guys in the band down to an agreeable rain date, there is none. However, the most recent forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, low 70’s, and only a 10% chance of rain. Looks like a beautiful evening for a concert, followed by dinner at one of our fabulous restaurants. Please spread the word to come out and enjoy. I know Matt and the band are as excited to put on a great show as we are to hear one.
