Verona Players Are Legion Champs

Legion Team-2013On July 25, the American Legion Junior team from Verona beat Livingston 6-3 in the Essex County Legion Junior championship game.

Verona hadn’t fielded a Legion team in two years, but this squad more than made up for it, with a 12-4 regular season record and overall 15-4 finish.

The Verona boys defeated No. 2 seed Montclair on July 24 before advancing on top seed Livingston in the finals. You can read more about the game play in this write-up by Verona’s Mark Tosh on Sideline Chatter.
