With temperatures now in the 90s, it might not seem like football weather. But Monday, June 10, is the 20th annual Paul Robeson Classic, and Verona High School seniors Frank Greco and Luke Sniatkowski will be taking the field as part of the “East” team.

The Paul Robeson Classic pits a squad comprised of players from schools in Essex County against a team drawn from Morris, Sussex and Warren counties. Half the Passaic County schools play for the East and half for the West. Billy Meade played for Verona in last year’s game, when the East crushed the West 47-0.

The game is played at Robeson Stadium, 215 North Clinton Street in East Orange. (It might show up on your computer’s map as Ashland Stadium). Kick-off is 6:30 and tickets are $7 per person. Get your tickets at the gate, or call 973-266-5722.
