Scholarship-Funding Raffle

Due to Hurricane Sandy, the Verona High School SCA was unable to hold its annual bake sale during the recent election. The SCA was expecting to collect the majority of its scholarship fund money from the sale of baked goods and homemade entrees, and from the raffling off of six items donated by local businesses.

“The bake sale has traditionally been our major fundraising event,” says Vivian DiStaso, SCA president. “The money we raise is important as it supports annual scholarships and we were hoping for a banner year.”

To remedy the shortfall, the SCA will be selling tickets for chances to win the items at this weekend’s Fair in the Square. Items include:

  • A 26-inch flat screen TV (donated by Berman Electronics in Verona)
  • Vera Wang Sunglasses and eye care gift card (300 value donated by Affinity Eye Care/Verona Opticians)
  • $100 gift card to The Manor
  • $100 gift card for dining at Salugo Bistro
  • Dinner for two at CulinAriane
  • GAP gift basket

Tickets will cost $5 each or three for $10.
