Tonight, Tuesday, October 9, Verona Superintendent Steven A. Forte has invited Crystal Bichalski to speak at the Board of Education meeting. Bichalski is one of the leaders of the the group that is trying to bring full day kindergarten to Verona’s public schools. Verona has historically only offered a half-day kindergarten schedule.
The group, Full Day K, has a Facebook page, where it posts daily notes on its efforts. Full Day K has distributed lawn signs across town and placed posters in the windows of local businesses to remind people to get out to vote. The vote on full-day kindergarten will take place as part of the general ballot on Election Day, Tuesday November 6.
The public portion of the BOE meeting begins at 8 p.m. and is held in the media center at Verona High School.
