For the last year or so, Verona LIVE has been helping seniors to stay in their homes safely by offering a free visit from a handyman. The JVS Home Maintenance Solutions Handyman provides safety assessments, installs grab bars and railings, changes light bulbs and batteries, and handles other basic repair tasks. Labor and the first grab bar are free, but the service will only be available through June 29. Call 973-674-2415, x 296 to make an appointment. Residents from other communities may use the service for a fee.
Verona LIVE is a federal demonstration program whose goal is to help older adults remain in the community. This non-sectarian program is in partnership with the Township of Verona. Support provided by the U.S. Administration on Aging and United Jewish Appeal, and funded in part through a grant from The Partners for Health Foundation.
