The schedule is always pretty full in Verona, but it is even more so tonight, Tuesday May 15.

There’s an evening concert at Verona High School for several music groups from H.B. Whitehorne Middle School. The White Band, Voices and Jazz Band perform, starting at 7 p.m. On Wednesday at VHS, the middle school concert will feature the Maroon Band, Acoustics and Gold Band. If you have a child going into HBW in the fall, these concerts are a good introduction to the middle school music program.

Also at 7 p.m. tonight, the Verona Board of Education will hold a special session in the VHS media center.  This is what the BOE calls a “goal-setting” meeting and it is usually held as a private session. The BOE will have its next regular meeting on May 22 and a special joint meeting with the Verona Town Council on June 4.

It is Senior Day for both the VHS softball and boys’ lacrosse teams. If Mother Nature cooperates, the softball game against West Orange High School starts at 4 p.m. at F.N. Brown. The lacrosse team takes on Livingston High School at Centennial Field at 6 p.m. UPDATE: All sports are cancelled except the boys and girls lacrosse games. The girls face Glen Rock at Centennial Field at 4 p.m. and the boys go up against Livingston at 6 p.m.
