On Wednesday, April 4, H.B. Whitehorne Middle school will be presenting a workshop on something that most parents hope they will never need to face: sexting. For the uninitiated, that’s what you call it when someone sends or receives sexually explicit photographs or messages over a cell phone. The presentation will be led by Alexis R. DiMartino, a graduate student at Montclair State University and School Counselor Intern at HBW.
You need to be up on this because sexting can result in felony charges. The presentation will provide a more thorough description of what constitutes as sexting, as well as practical ways parents can protect their children from becoming a victim of such a rapidly evolving trend.
The presentation will be at 7p.m. in the HBW auditorium.
