Mrs. Ida E. Freda, 90, died peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at her home in Verona surrounded by her loving family. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Wednesday, April 6 at 10 a.m.  Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home,   370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Born in Harrison, N.J., Mrs. Freda lived in East Orange and resided in Verona for the past 56 years. She worked at Sears in Wayne for 15 years, retiring in 1989.

Mrs. Freda was a past president of the Verona Woman’s Club, a member of the West Orange Woman’s Club and a member of the Verona Senior Citizens.

She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Freda, the beloved mother of Madeline Williamson and her husband Robert, Joseph M. Freda and his wife Linda, Richard J. Freda and his wife Karen, Josephine A. Freda, the sister of Ralph Pennella, the late Josephine Pastena and the late Carl Pennella. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Verona Rescue Squad would be appreciated.
