Nick Riggio came out to sing Saturday night, and he seemed to have brought most of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School along to cheer him on.
Riggio and 31 other performers, young and not so young, were the headliners at the 9th annual Spotlight Players Parents Association Talent Night at Verona High School. There were vocal tributes to favorite artists, dancing, and a whole lot more. Since its inception, Talent Night has been a great way for new performers to get some exposure and for those with experience to remind us just how much talent there is in Verona.
We’ve got a clip of Riggio’s performance, a cover of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade”, below. You can see the rest on MyVeronaNJ.com’s YouTube page. Brooke Cooney and the Marino sisters were back, as were Willy Burgos and Marsha Schreier. Ahnie Simonian was there with her guitar, as was Jonathan Ben-Israel, who has only been playing for a few months.
But we must make an apology to the Nesto sisters, Gianna Cordasco and Lizz Cowell: We didn’t get a full video of your performance due to technical difficulties. Flip cameras need to come with a better low battery warning.
Enjoy!
Wow Nick! Who would’ve thought??!! Great job! The Quagliata’s
