The Verona United Methodist Church‘s youth group and The Children’s House Montessori Preschool will be holding a car wash and bake sale on Sunday, September 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the church parking lot. They will be raising money for Nothing But Nets, a group that funds the purchase of mosquito netting to thwart malaria in Africa, the leading cause of death in children there. The church, which got car wash supplies donated by General Parts Group in Caldwell and Major Hardware of Cedar Grove, says it costs as little as $10 to buy the mosquito netting that can save a child’s life. All proceeds will go to the Nothing but Nets campaign.
