It’s VHS Prom Time

Like brightly colored flowers, there were gaggles of formally clad young people blooming in Verona gardens early this evening for pre-prom photo parties. This year the prom is at The Wilshire Grand Hotel on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange, a short drive, so photo sessions could last a little longer. Fewer kids opted for limousines this year than last, when prom was in East Hanover, choosing to drive themselves. And the kids will be self-sufficient in another way: The music is being provided by senior Ian Garsman, a budding professional Disc Jockey. Garsman did his homework, passing out request forms to fellow seniors ahead of time, so the music is bound to be well-received. Both juniors and seniors attend the VHS prom; traditionally junior girls wear floor-length gowns and seniors go short. Don’t they look gorgeous?
