Verona’s athletes aren’t the only ones at risk of tendinitis. Repetitive strain injuries are also common to musicians, and that is why the Montclair Arts Council’s Musicians Network, the Essex County Department of Cultural and Historic Affairs and Outpost in the Burbs are co-sponsoring a workshop on helping musicians prevent them.
“Injury Prevention and Management for Musicians from an Alexander Technique Teacher’s Perspective” will be held on Monday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Montclair. The workshop is free, but you need to call 973-744-7555 to reserve a space. The class will be led by Lauren Schiff, who has been on the faculty of The Julliard School since 1991 and it is open to musicians of all ages and skill levels.
