On Friday, the federal government approved disaster aid for 12 New Jersey counties flooded by the March 12 storm that left sections of Verona without power for days. The assistance covers homes and businesses in Essex county, as well as Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, and Union counties.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is offering grants and low-cost loans for repairs. All the information on the program, and an online application form, can be found here. You can also call FEMA at 800-621-3362.
