MyVeronaNJ-CalendarThings go back to full tilt in Verona, with both the public schools and the school at Our Lady of the Lake back in session.

Plan to be at VHS auditorium on Friday or Saturday night for the VHS Spotlight Players’ production of “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”. The play starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $8 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults.

There’s a town council meeting on Monday night and a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday. No agenda has been posted for either meeting.  If you have an eighth grader, there’s a high school orientation meeting scheduled at VHS on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

The freshman basketball teams both play Mountain Lakes on Monday, with the boys at Mountain Lakes and the girls playing in HBW’s gym. The Verona-Glen Ridge Hockey team has an away game at Cranford.

The boys basketball teams have back-to-back games with Nutley on Tuesday, while the girls teams are split: The freshman play Montville and the varsity are playing Solomon Schechter Day School. On Wednesday, the boys varsity wrestling team hits the mats against East Side High School in VHS’ auxiliary gym. There’s a basketball blitz on Thursday, with the girls JV and varsity playing Central High School at VHS and the boys teams playing Montclair Kimberly and West Essex. Varsity wrestling has an away meet at Columbia High School on Friday and another away event at Old Tappan on Saturday. The Verona-Glen Ridge Hockey team plays Montclair at South Mountain Arena on Friday evening.

Garbage pickups are on their regular schedule, with commingled recycling southside on Tuesday and northside on Thursday, and junk mail recycling southside on Wednesday.

There’s more information on each event on our Calendar page. Please e-mail us your group’s events to help us make this page as useful and complete as possible.

  1. Calendar query – is tonight the night that you can get passports renewed at Town Hall? It was in Verona/Cedar Grove times but only said “monday” not which Monday.

  2. The ticket price for “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” should read $5 for students/seniors and $10 for adults.

Hope to see a full house at VHS on Friday and Saturday!!
