A hot gift item this season is animal-shaped rubber bands that kids wear as bracelets. The bands come in different colors, shapes and themes, such as dinosaurs or zoo animals–if you can get ’em. My kids wanted to buy some to give as gifts, so we’ve been checking in at the Learning Express in town almost daily for the past two weeks. (Store personnel explained that they could no longer take phone numbers and call people when the bands arrived because “it was getting too crazy”).
But today, one of my high-schoolers said she’d heard that Terry’s Drugs had them. The brand at Terry’s is called “Sillybandz,” and costs $4.99 for a pack of 24. Trend Coffee Bar and Boutique, just a few doors up from Terry’s, is expecting a shipment of the Toysmith brand of animal bracelets tomorrow by noon, with the themes of “car/fun” and “dino/animal.” Learning Express has alphabet-themed bracelets now, and is expecting animal bracelets by ZanyBandz “any day.”
If you have a Books A Million in the area they have the bracelets.
