Jane Eliasof, a Verona resident who is the chief development officer of Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest New Jersey (JVS) wants Jewish students in Verona to know about the organization’s loan and grant options for college study.
JVS offers Perlmutter Student Loans, which are need-based, interest-free loans of up to $3,000 available to Jewish college students from the MetroWest area who need financial assistance to pursue a full-time college education or graduate program. The loans are awarded only after the student has exhausted all other forms of financial aid. Repayment begins one year after the student’s graduation and is paid on a monthly basis over a period of five years until the loan has been repaid in full.
Interested students can download the application, guarantor information and financial aid worksheet.
JVS also offers Shapiro Foundation Grants, which are one-year grants to help Jewish students pursue post-graduate degrees in medicine, medical science, nursing, and/or rabbinical school. Funded by the Estate of Belle Shapiro, these grants may be renewed each year, pending the approval of the executors of the Estate.
Interested students can download the application and the financial aid worksheet.
JVS will hold a student loan and grant information session online on Wednesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. Register here.
