Diana Leticia Morett de Gonzalez is a beautiful soul who peacefully returned to heaven on January 16, 2024, after seven years of living with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD).

Diana is the daughter of Mariano Morett and Maria de Socorro Flores and was born in Mexico City on December 4, 1954. Diana adored her five siblings: Marco, Victor, Carlos, Martha, and Luis. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mariana, Alfonso, Edyca, Andrea, Carlos, Luis Andres, and her inlaws, Alfonso, Edith, Romelia, and Inmaculada.

A trailblazer, Diana was the first female money market trader in Mexico for Citibank. During a work trip to New York City, Diana attempted to sell assets to an international officer, who would end up being her husband, Hector Gonzalez. Hector received the most valuable asset, Diana’s partnership in marriage for 42 years.

The couple brought into the world their two loving daughters, Sandra Lisset and Diana Lauren. Diana was an extremely dedicated mother and her home was always filled with laughter, love, and joy. As the girls grew older, Diana returned to the workforce as a successful realtor for Weichert Realtors in Upper Montclair for 20 years.

Diana will be remembered for her ingenious and disarming personality who easily made friends. Always elegant and graceful, she lived joyfully and enthusiastically. Known for her loving hugs and empathetic nature, she would take the shirt off her back for someone in need. Simply put, to know Diana is to love her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers, friends, and loved ones who provided support and comfort during Diana’s journey.

May Diana find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who know her.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna RC Church, 339 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove. A Lunch repast will follow at Bella Napoli Restaurant in Bloomfield.
