Verona Police Lieutenant Honored

Verona Police Department Lieutenant Anthony O’Connor was honored by the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) on Saturday, November 18.

O’Connor (above, third from left) received the Meritorious Service Valor Award, along with Montclair Police Officer Joseph Savittieri. According to Verona PBA Local 72, the two had worked together on a case involving a barricaded person who was distraught and armed, and resolved the incident without injuries.

The two officers received their recognition at the New Jersey State PBA Valor Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.
