Sandy Dennis Van Lieu passed away at the age of 57 on October 26, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Sandy was born on June 29, 1966, in Montclair.
Sandy graduated from Verona High School, earned a B.A. from Lehigh University, studied manufacturing management at The Fashion Institute of Technology and earned an EMBA from The University of Tennessee. Sandy had a longtime career as an executive vice president at her family’s business, Annin Flagmakers. She was extremely proud to be a part of Annin’s heritage and the national pride inherent in every flag manufactured.
Sandy was a brilliant friend who always had a bright spirit, positive attitude, and zest for life.
Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone fortunate to know her. She valued spending time with her closest friends and took every opportunity to bring the people she loved together. She loved spending time in the sun, specifically at the Jersey Shore and in Sedona. Sandy was a devoted fan of the New York Giants and grew up going to games with her dad, Jack. Jack and Sandy had a special bond, she cherished all of the moments they spent together and followed in his footsteps by attending Lehigh University and then pursuing a career at Annin. She was a lover of all animals and is now peacefully reunited with her beloved dog, Jonah.
Towards the end of Sandy’s life, she was surrounded by the most comforting support system of caregivers and friends. Sandy passed away peacefully in Virginia, where she had been living close to her sister, Sue, since early 2023.
Sandy is survived by her father, John Dennis; her sisters Sue Tait (Greg) and Pam Dennis (Frank); her nieces and nephews, Laura Tait, Emily Eaves (Evan), Aidan Rainjoy (Lucy), Jacob Dennis, Gilbert Dennis; and one great niece, Rita Rainjoy. She is predeceased by her mother, Elaine Dennis. She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and aunt.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be planned for a later date.
