The Woman’s Club of Verona, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, is participating in the National
Day of Service on Saturday, September 30, by conducting a drive to restock the food pantry at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Verona.

“Food insecurity has a devastating impact on people of all ages,” the club says by email. “Having no other choice but to consume low nutritional value food can affect both mental and physical health. By helping us
restock the shelves of the Holy Spirit Food Pantry, you can provide better nutritional choices for people to make.”

To participate, the club is asking the community to drop off non-perishables at the church between 1 and 3 p.m. Holy Spirit is located at 36 Gould Street, opposite the field behind H.B. Whitehorne Middle School.

The pantry needs canned tuna, beans, meat and soup, peanut butter and jelly, condiments like ketchup, mustard and mayonaise, canned fruit, rice, coffee (not in K-cups), cereal and oatmeal.

For more information, contact Lori at 973-652-7240, Donna at 973-464-2344 or Joyce at 973-239-2766.
