Essex County is making some changes to the operating hours at its COVID-19 vaccination and testing sites. County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. put out a pre-recorded phone message today, saying that the sites will be closed from Friday, December 24 to Sunday 27, and that they would be closed again from Friday, December 31 to Monday, January 3.
When the county sites re-open on Tuesday, January 4, they will cut their schedule to five days, from Tuesday to Saturday. In addition, the county will relocate the pediatric vaccination site in the former Sears store in Livingston to the first floor of that site. Anyone using that site should use the entrance on the Eisenhower Parkway side of the building.
The county sites in Livingston, the former Kmart store in West Orange and Essex County College in Newark offer all three of the COVID-19 vaccines, as well as pediatric doses and booster shots. As of Sunday, the county had administered 521,458 COVID shots and done 146,421 COVID tests.
