Former Gov. Dick Codey would like to treat Verona to breakfast and lunch on Wednesday. Yes, really.
Codey, who represents the western part of Essex County in the New Jersey state Senate, has been going around to restaurants in his district during the pandemic and paying for people to eat there. Out of his own pocket.
While Verona is not part of his district, Codey is an old friend of Marianne McNamara, who with her husband Jack owns and runs Jack’s Cafe. So on Wednesday, August 19, Codey will be paying the first $10 of of your meal at Jack’s Cafe from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yes, really.
