
On Monday, June 10 at 7 p.m., Verona’s Laura Fortgang, a candidate for state Assembly in the 26th legislative district, will host a Broadway cabaret as a fundraiser for her campaign. The 26th legislative district includes parts of Morris, Passaic and Essex counties, including Verona.
With stars like the 2009 Tony Award Winner for Lead Actress in a Musical Alice Ripley, Ken Marks from Dear Evan Hansen, Sean McCourt from Wicked, Robert Dusold from Les Miserables, Jim Ferris from The Lion King, Ben Liebert and Beth Thompson from Fiddler on the Roof, and Julie Stiel from Cats, the night is full of talented musicians who will put on a broadway level performance.
Tickets are being sold at $100 for the “Friend” level, $250 for “Supporter” level, and $500 for the “VIP” level, which includes an exclusive cocktail hour with the broadway stars, candidates, and other guests at 6 p.m. Contributions can be made online. The cabaret will be held at the Mule Tavern, 450 N. Beverwyck Road in Parsippany.
Primary elections are June 4, and the general election is November 5, with polls open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.
