Dear Editor:

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I don’t usually get involved in political elections. However, I am writing this letter in support of John Quattrocchi for Verona Town Council because I feel strongly that John has a lot to offer and we as a community would be fortunate to have him on the Council. I know John from his time on the school board as well from our time together as Brookdale Avenue School parents.

Since moving to Verona 12 years ago, I have seen the school offerings and the facilities grow immensely. For such a small town, Verona offers its children a top-rate education with advanced school programs and too many AP classes to list! Currently, I have three kids at the high school and we know that a lot of work has gone into bringing the schools to this point, where they are some of the best in the state. We know that John has been an important part of it.

Specifically, John and I worked closely when I started up the boys’ freshman soccer team at VHS three years ago. This was no easy task as there were a lot of things to consider. During this effort we went before the Board of Education to present our case. John was prudent in asking the right questions to safeguard the Board throughout the process, asking thoughtful questions and helping us think through some of the potential issues. At the same time, he valued and respected my opinion and helped me create a plan for success for the team, which can be sustained for years to come. I am proud to say that my son is will be graduating VHS next year and the freshman boys soccer team continues going strong.

John is a strategic thinker and an asset to Verona. Next Tuesday, I will vote for John Quattrocchi and I have no doubt that if elected, John will bring his thoughtful, prudent leadership to Verona.

Sincerely,
John Hogan
Verona
