Verona High School Athletic Director Bob Merkler is urging the community to come out and support all of VHS’ student-athletes this week as they compete in their NJSIAA state tournaments.
On Wednesday, November 7, the girls volleyball team will play for their third straight sectional championship, taking on New Providence at 6 p.m. at VHS. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students/seniors. The winner advances to Saturday’s Group 1 Championship at William Paterson University at noon.
On Friday, November 9, the football team will host Lyndhurst for the right to advance to next week’s sectional final. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Sellitto Field. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students/seniors.
On Saturday, November 10, the boys and girls cross country teams will head to Holmdel Park for the NJSIAA Group Championships. The boys start their race at noon while the girls take off at 1 p.m.
