The Forest Avenue SCA is calling on all of Verona’s elementary school students to try their hand at designing a new t-shirt for Team Zoey’s Turkey Trot fundraiser.
To participate, you need to submit a drawing on an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper, using only black, white and one other color of your choice to your school office by Friday, October 12. Write “Team Zoey Design Contest” on your envelope. For more information on the contest, email [email protected]
Saturday, November 24, is the date for this year’s Team Zoey “Turkey Trot” races in Verona Park. The 5K race and one mile “fun run” raise money to battle progeria, a rapid aging disease. Zoey Penny of Verona has progeria and a group of volunteers created Team Zoey to hold the “Turkey Trot” races in Verona Park, golf outings and more to raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation.
