Vilma Parks, Former Spanish Teacher

Mrs. Vilma J. Parks, died on July 19, 2018 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Visiting will be held in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, will be on Saturday, July 28 from 3 to 4 p.m. with a service at 4 p.m.

Born in Panama, Mrs. Parks moved to Verona 49 years ago. She was a Spanish teacher at Montclair High School for 34 years.

Mrs. Parks was the wife of the late David Porter and mother of Maritza Porter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
